The Signs Of Puberty (Buloogh)
Are 3:
-
the plural of 'alaama (sign), meaning: the thing whose
existence verifies the existence of that which it indicates.
However, if the thing does not exist, it doesn't mean that the
object it indicates does not exist. [*]
-
arriving at the limits of adulthood or takleef, which is the age
at which one becomes personally responsible for following the
dictates of the shari'ah (Islamic Law).
The meaning of the statement
'The Signs of Puberty are 3" is that those signs that are a
proof of a person having reached adulthood, on the condition that
they are sane, are three in number.
1) The completion of 15 years of age
for males and females.
This means that the male or female child
(from age 2 until adulthood) has reached 15 lunar years of
age.
2) Nocturnal emissions or "wet
dreams" occurring for the male or female of at least
9 years of age.
This is the emission of the sexual fluid
during the dream state. Ibn Hajr al-Haythami says that if the
fluid travels the length of the male member and then returns without
having come out, the child has not reached adulthood, while Imam
ar-Ramlee disagrees. Both are valid views within the madhhab.

3) The occurrence of the menstrual cycle
for the female who is at least 9 years of
age.
Menstruation (
) linguistically means "flowing." The legal
definition is natural blood (i.e. not the result of an illness or
injury) that exits from the furthermost part of the woman's womb,
while she is in a state of good health, at a particular time.
It is considered menstruation so long as
the female has reached the age of 9 lunar years approximately.
However, it may still be considered hayd so long as she is
within 16 days of her 9th birthday.
* The fulfillment
of any of these three things constitutes a proof of one having
reached adulthood. For example, if a person has reached 15
lunar years of age but has not experienced nocturnal emissions,
then that person is considered to have reached adulthood.
Similarly, if a person experiences nocturnal emissions but has
not completed 15 lunar years of age, that person is still
considered to have reached adulthood due to that fact that
he/she has experienced at least one of the signs.

The Conditions
Permitting Rocks to take place of Water are 8:
1) That there are three
(3) rocks.
2) That they clean the
area.
3) That the filth not be
dry.
4) That the filth is not
carried to another location.
5) That nothing mixes or
exits after elimination.
6) That none of the filth goes beyond the outer private parts and the buttocks.
7) That no other liquid
exit after the filth.
8) That the rocks be pure.
